My Predictions for the year 2009

Posted: Friday, December 26, 2008

by

For starters I want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe New Year!

As far as predictions for the future are concerned, I really don't pay much attention to any of them except for those that are given to us in our Bible in the last book of Revelations.  When these predictions are going to happen, I believe we are in the midst of them now.  Some of the predictions have already begun and there are more things to still to happen.

For anyone who is new to reading the bible, I also find Revelations hard to understand, but there is also a book in the New Testament of the bible named ‘Matthew', and it has an easier chapter to read on the predictions of the end of the ages. Matthew 24

Here are my 2009 predictions:

A baby will be born on January 1st.
Someone will be cured from their cancer.
Someone will receive a new heart this year and live again.
Someone will get bullied in school.
Someone will commit suicide.
Someone will build their first home.
Someone's home will burn down and not have any house insurance.
Someone will quit smoking.
Someone one will start smoking.
Someone will loose their home, family and everything they ever had due to gambling.
Someone will loose everything from drinking and another will win what they have lost.
Money will create more enemies.
People will lose their jobs.
Someone will start their first job.
Someone will loose friends at work due to taking a supervisor position and cutting their friends jobs.
Teenagers will become pregnant at the ages 13, 14, and 15.
Someone will have a methamphetamine lab set up in their home; it will explode killing their children.
Someone will get their drivers license for the first time.
Someone will be killed by a drunk driver.
Someone will help a person and not even realize that they have helped them.
Someone will die trying to save another person's life.
Someone will have their dream come true .
Someone will conquer their eating disorder.
Someone will die from theirs.
Someone will say "I love you" to their father for the first time in 20 years.
Someone will make his wife cry because he hit her.
Some man will cry because his wife has beaten him.
Someone will believe in God that never had before.
God will reach out to help everyone of us, but not many will take his hand.
Someone will comment on my predictions article.
Some people will like it. Some people won't.

I just pray that the year 2009 will bring more positives to this world than negatives, and my hopes are that there will be an end to starvation, wars and sickness.  That people will treat each other with the respect that they wish to receive.  That the people who can help will, and that the people who need help can find it.  I pray that all children will be safe from whatever harm is in their way, I pray for a lot of things that seem impossible to fix.  If everyone adds this to their New Year Resolutions, that they will do one thing nice a day for someone else all through the year of 2009, I predict that the world will be a happier place.

After I read my article back to myself I thought I don't know if I should publish this or not.  But maybe this will make people think of what not to do or that they should try doing. I know I haven't made any predictions for 2009.  I guess I just write things down a bit different sometimes.  Thank you Peter for reading and Happy New Year and i am glad you liked this.

Hi, thanks for your comment, and yeah everything I listed are just everyday things that do happen, I wasn't even going to add this article because there are no predictions in it.  I guess maybe if someone reads this, maybe in their future they will think twice on drinking and driving or something...I don't know.
Thank you for reading it though and have a Happy and Safe New Year

There is one large disconnect in your article. You hope that 2009 will bring more positives and yet in your predictions you list more negatives than positives. Why is that? If you want people to think in positives, you should encourage positive thinking with your article. Too many negatives for that.

Yeah your right I do have more negatives in my list don't I.

I also was thinking that I should have put more positives in it also.  Actually I did have a loooonger list but my mom pointed out that she quit reading 1/2 way through the article because it was so long and boring, so I deleted alot of the positives ones.  I guess negative comments hit home a bit harder, and I guess that is why I left those predictions or whatever you call them in my article.

I don't know actually why I disconnected my article that way, but your right, I shouldn't have done that.  If I want more positives I have to think more positive, I have a hard time with that sometimes.  But I do hope for more positives for our worlds future. I see the glass half empty all the time....

But I do thank you for reading and for the constructive critism, I appreciate it alot and I certainly will pay more attention the next time when I try to write something.  Have A Happy and Safe New Year.

Probably the only seer that will get 100%. SAs for children, I suspect they, the elderly and indortunate will fall to evil and greed. Good job though.

Unfortunately everyone gets hauled down into some kind of termoil in life, it would be nice that It never had to happen.

I just have a thing for kids, they to me, can't defend for themselves and get hauled into alot of disqusting situations that they can't get out of, nor can they even speak up about, because they don't know the difference, or they don't have the size to fight  physcially.  I have also have places in my heart for the unfortunate and elderly. People certainly can be cruel to them as well and for some elders, like children, they can't defend themselves as well and that breaks me heart as well when I hear a story on the news about something horrible happening to them.  I guess I should have mentioned them above in my last paragraph.

I guess the only prediction for the future that we know for sure is that Jesus will return, take his children home with him where there will be no pain nor suffering, and until that day comes, I suspect that satan will be laying his evil on us all really thick the closer it gets for the time for Jesus to return.  Even Satan doesn't know the time, but I am sure he knows that the bible's predictions for the end times are happening.

What I am trying to say is, in my mind the world is getting worse and it's not going to get any better. That is probably why the situations I listed are mostly gloomy.

Happy New Year to you Robert and God Bless

hi kathy,

i enjoyed this article, although some of the more depressing things already depress me, maybe 2009 will help with some of them. i am hopeful that the days ahead will educate we, the people, into stopping all the violence and needless hatred, and we can all get along in a better fashion. thanks for sharing,

Kathy,

Interesting article but I don't believe it is Revelation quite yet. Everything you mentioned could have been written 200 years ago or 2000 years ago (except for the cars, although I am confident people were killed by horse and wagon in the past). We are certainly no better than we were 200 or 2000 years ago and I wish we, as a people, would be. The world indeed would be a better place. (PS. No 's' on Revelation.)

Thank you....LOL  Revelation without the s, your right.  I guess if you look at it....200 years ago things were hard for them to.  Maybe back then people thought they were in Revelation time as well.
Thank you for your comment it's an interesting one that makes me think as well about the times.
But I guess from being brought up the way I was, God fearing Baptist, I see things in a different perspective, but alot of people see things like you do and that's ok to.

Kathy,

I was raised a Lutheran; I've studied Revelation and believe in it; but, I just don't think it is happening quite yet (only because I don't know who the AntiChrist is).  My comments about it being 200 or 2000 years ago only refer to the fact that everything that you remarked upon were the same problems 200 years as well as 2000 years ago.  In fact, an interesting little sidebar:  I am concerned with the moral decay of people today; however, I recently discovered that if you look at the birth certificates of the firstborns from those married during George Washington's era, 33% of the births occurred around 6 months after the wedding.  And they weren't all premies!

LOL ....wow you sure are smart, I am impressed !! Thanks for answering back, I am always interested to hear what people say to my responses. Thank you ! :) and your right, we do have the same problems, maybe except for the meth labs....but they did have those still things making alcohol didn't they....right again Happy New Year

I think in many ways we are better, as societies, than we were 200 or 2000 years ago - we have more equality, legislation against unfair discrimination (sexism, racism etc), better rights and entitlements for employees, more recognition of human rights, more widespread access to education, more chances for those born in poverty to escape it, various kinds of welfare state and charitable organisations to help the less fortunate etc, and a less sharp divide between the haves and have-nots.

While we obviously have much to do, I think we have made at least a little progress over the years!

You are asking the wrong person about that sweetie, have you gone to your gyncologist?  Sorry......I can't help you out on that question, the article I wrote was for a certain topic on predictions for 2009 and this is what I came up with, which most of them happen everyday....
